About CooksGuide

Simple recipes, smart cooking guides and practical kitchen answers — for everyday UK home cooks.

CooksGuide is a practical cooking reference, not a long-winded food blog. We aim to answer the exact question you came with — how to cook something, how long it takes, what to use instead, whether you can freeze it, or how much to make per person — clearly and near the top of the page.

Everything is written for UK kitchens: metric measurements first (with conversions), familiar supermarket ingredients, and oven temperatures in °C, fan °C, °F and gas mark.

What you'll find

Who's behind CooksGuide

CooksGuide is founded, run and edited by Dan, a UK home cook. Dan sets the site's content standards, decides what gets published, and is responsible for everything you read here. Pages are built from structured cooking data and official food-safety guidance, labelled honestly — a recipe is only ever marked "tested" when it has genuinely been cooked in our kitchen.

Questions, corrections or suggestions are always welcome at [email protected] — accuracy matters more to us than page count.
