How to Reheat Lasagne

Data-assisted guide Updated Jun 2026 Built from structured cooking data and official food-safety guidance, written in our own words.

Reheat lasagne covered with foil in the oven at 180°C for 25–30 minutes (longer from frozen) until piping hot in the middle, or microwave a portion in short bursts. Reheat once only.

In the oven (best for a whole dish or slice)

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (fan 160°C, gas mark 4).
  2. Cover the lasagne with foil so the top doesn't dry out or burn.
  3. Heat for 25–30 minutes from chilled (45–60 minutes from frozen), until piping hot in the centre.
  4. Remove the foil for the last 5 minutes if you want the top crisp again.

In the microwave (quickest for a portion)

  1. Place a portion on a microwave-safe plate and cover loosely.
  2. Heat in short bursts, checking the middle, until steaming hot throughout.

Food safety: Lasagne is dense, so the middle takes longest — check it's piping hot all the way through before serving. Reheat once only, and don't leave it sitting warm.
